BRAILLE INSTITUTE
RESEARCH / ACCESSIBILITY TESTING
Along with the UX Research team, an accessibility session at the Braille Institute was conducted in Los Angeles. The goal was to better understand interaction behaviors of users with accessibility needs with our product, identify issues they are encountering, and develop a working relationship with Braille for future testing.
The testing was onsite and moderated for 1 hour. 5 students whose grades ranged from K-12 who have never used our product. JAWS Screen Reader was used during testing. Users were given tasks from logging in to navigating the dashboard and inbox. A scoresheet was used to document their overall frustration and difficulty level.
Some examples of feedback received from the users.
Our findings were presented to our product team and we worked closely with engineers to improve navigational changes for accessibility.
